USGS/NIPC Historic Hydrologic Atlases

Historic Hydrologic Atlases showing the approximate depth and extent of flooding for individual 1:24,000 USGS quadrangles (and one additional non-Quad study area) in the 6-county Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission (NIPC) region, created by the USGS and NIPC in the 1960’s and 1970’s. The atlases include the extent of historic floods, gage height during flood events, and flood discharge rates, alongside related information. Refer to the index map to see Atlas availability. NOTE: These maps are provided as-is; CMAP is not in possession of any underlying digital datasets used in the creation of these maps.
