From the introduction: "This notebook addresses a comprehensive array of best management practices (BMPs) to control the stormwater-related impacts of urban development. It is intended to educate engineers, planners, landscape architects and others involved in the design, review, and implementation of development plans. The primary objective of this notebook is to effectively describe practical methods of designing and constructing urban developments to minimize adverse impacts to water quality and quantity and to sensitive natural landscape features. The objective will be addressed through two principal categories of BMPs: 1) Site planning and design BMPs aimed at avoiding adverse impacts to a site's natural functions and features, and 2) Structural BMPs to mitigate the harmful effects of development on water quality and quantity."
