Census Population for Municipalities in the CMAP Region, 1950 - 2010

This table provides Census total population counts by municipality for all cities and villages in the 7-county CMAP region, for the years 1950, 1960, 1970, 1980, 1990, 2000 and 2010. For those towns which are partially out of the region (i.e. Maple Park in Kane and DeKalb Counties), the figures given are for the entire municipality. Munis that were unincorporated at the time of the census for a given year have a value of "-99999" for that year. Munis that have changed their name (i.e. “Fox River Valley Gardens” to “Port Barrington”) have all years listed under their current name. The PLACEFP column is the 5-digit FIPS code. Data was originally compiled by the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission; updated and expanded by CMAP in 2011.
